One Four Design Signs and Graphics Ltd. ("we", "us", "our") is the data controller for any personal data you submit through themuralguys.co.uk. We respect your privacy and handle your data in line with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. This policy explains what we collect when you contact us about wall murals, graphics and office branding services, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it.

What we collect

From the contact form: your name, email address, business location and a description of your project. If you tick "Yes" to a WhatsApp reply, we also collect the telephone number you provide. We keep standard web-server logs (IP address, user-agent, pages viewed) for security and diagnostic purposes, and — where enabled — anonymous, non-identifying page-view counts via Plausible Analytics. If you explicitly accept analytics cookies via the cookie notice, Google Analytics also records an anonymised event stream of the pages you visit (see Cookie Policy for the cookies set and how to withdraw).

Why we use it (lawful basis)

We use the details you submit solely to respond to your enquiry, to prepare quotes, and to deliver any work you go on to commission. The lawful basis under UK GDPR is Article 6(1)(b) — steps taken at your request prior to entering into a contract. We do not use enquiry data for marketing, and we will not add you to any mailing list without a separate, explicit opt-in.

If you choose "Yes" to a WhatsApp reply and provide a phone number, that constitutes your consent under Article 6(1)(a) for us to contact you via WhatsApp about your enquiry. You can withdraw that consent at any time by replying STOP, blocking the number, or emailing hello@themuralguys.co.uk.

Who we share it with

We share data only with the service providers we need to receive and respond to your enquiry. Each acts as a data processor on our behalf under a written data-processing agreement:

• Netlify, Inc. — hosts this website and runs the contact form's serverless function.
• Resend (Drop Inc.) — delivers enquiry emails from the form to our team inbox.
• Plausible Insights OÜ — provides cookieless, aggregated visitor analytics (no personal data is collected or stored). Plausible is based in Estonia and processes data within the EU.
• Google Ireland Ltd (Google Analytics 4) — only if you explicitly accept analytics cookies. Provides aggregated visitor analytics; receives an anonymised event stream tied to a Google-set device ID, not to you personally. You can withdraw consent at any time on the Cookie Policy page.
• Meta Platforms (WhatsApp) — only if you opt in to a WhatsApp reply. The conversation is governed by their own privacy policy.
• Dotwall (site monitor) — our design agency runs an uptime and performance monitor at monitor.dotwall.co.uk that records aggregated, non-identifying page-load data so they can keep the site healthy.

We do not sell your data and we do not share it with advertisers, data brokers or any other third party.

International transfers

Some of these providers (e.g. Netlify, Resend, Google) are based in or operate infrastructure in the United States. Where personal data is transferred outside the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards approved by the UK Information Commissioner's Office — the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, the International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA), or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses — as applicable to each provider.

How long we keep it

Enquiries we don't proceed with are kept for up to 12 months in case you come back to us, then deleted. Data relating to completed projects is kept for 6 years to meet our accounting and contractual record-keeping obligations. Web-server logs are retained for up to 90 days.

How we protect it

The site is served over HTTPS with TLS encryption end-to-end. Access to the team inbox is limited to named staff and protected by two-factor authentication. We review our processors' security practices annually.

Automated decision-making

We do not use automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects on you.

Children

Our services are aimed at businesses and commercial property owners. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has submitted data through the site, contact us and we will delete it.

Cookies

The only non-essential cookies set on this site are Google Analytics cookies, and only if you explicitly accept them via the cookie notice. You can change your mind at any time. For full detail — including the cookie names, lifespan and a manage-preferences control — see our Cookie Policy.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

• request a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
• ask us to correct anything that is inaccurate;
• ask us to delete your data ("right to erasure");
• object to or restrict how we use it;
• withdraw any consent you've given (for the WhatsApp opt-in or analytics cookies); and
• request your data in a portable, machine-readable format.

If you're not satisfied with how we handle your data, you have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our processors, retention periods or legal obligations change. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page always reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be highlighted at the top of this page for at least 30 days.
